In November, television personality Charlie Rose was fired by CBS News and PBS over allegations of sexual misconduct.

CBS had previously suspended Rose, who anchored CBS This Morning from 2012 to 2017 and contributed to 60 Minutes, following the release of a story with accusations from eight women in the Washington Post. PBS also cut ties with Rose, who had hosted and produced an interview show on its network since 1991.

The women, who all worked for Rose or aspired to work for him at the Charlie Rose show from the late 1990s to 2011, accused the newsman of groping them, walking around naked in front of them, and, in one instance, telling a woman that he dreamed about her swimming naked.

Rose, 75, posted a statement on Twitter responding to the allegations:

The longtime television host previously held a unique position in the New York media world, and he routinely interviewed the most prominent cultural and political figures. In November the Peabody-award winning journalist's roster included outgoing Harvard President Drew Faust, rapper Macklemore and the Post's Robert Costa, who talked about that paper's sexual harassment investigation of Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore.

Rose had been earning $2.5 million a year, according to celebritynetworth.com, and is reportedly worth roughly 10 times that figure—$23 million.
